Stupidity is usually infuriating, and at times it is simply mind-boggling, especially when the drivel is crammed into a single tweet.

"It's time to ask questions. Jenin has been quiet for years, there is no terror coming out of it. Are these raids necessary? Don't they do more harm than good? Aren't we enslaved to action? Four dead [Palestinians] at night only spur the other side to seek revenge. This morning Israel is less safe," former Peace Now Director Yariv Oppenheimer tweeted after news broke of a clash between Israeli sf and terrorists in the West Bank city.
In another tweet, he wrote, "If four Israelis had been killed in one night, we would have gone to war."
Oppenheimer is no idiot but he does expose the deductive failure of one who is addicted to ideology to the point of lacking good judgment and losing connection with reality.
"Jenin has been quiet for years," because the Palestinian terrorist elements in it have been brought to their knees. "There is no terror coming out of it," because the IDF and the Border Police nip it in the bud using "necessary raids."
The "four dead" were not innocent bystanders, rather Palestinian terrorists who fired at Israeli security forces and were killed in battle.
The other side cannot be "spurred to seek revenge" any more than it already is. Killing Jews is what these terrorists live for, and comparing the elimination of these terrorists to an Israeli reaction "if four Israelis had been killed in one night," combines demagoguery, despicableness, and moral depravity.
Such comparison erases the distinction between innocent civilians and terrorists in the midst of the act of terrorism. This erasure is at the core of terrorism and ןא is at the heart of the argument made by those seeking to make excuses for it.
