On Wednesday night, after an exhausting day and night of vote counting, it appears Donald Trump's path to victory is getting narrower. Liberal media outlets woke up in a cold sweat: the worst-case scenario is materializing; in other words, the election will be decided through a legal battle for which both sides have prepared. The atmosphere in certain areas is volatile. Outbreaks of violence are a serious concern.
The Democrats' strategy of encouraging their constituency to vote early and by mail gave them a hand up and inched them closer to victory. It's a tight race in every single swing state. Wisconsin and Michigan are showing a gap of several thousand votes between Trump and Biden. It's worth bearing in mind, however, that Trump himself won Michigan in 2016 by a margin of 10,000 votes and an even wider margin in Wisconsin. As of now, Biden holds the advantage there.

Trump was leading, as of Wednesday evening, in Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia. But winning all three of those states still brings him just under the required 270 electoral votes. It's likely that if Pennsylvania goes to Biden, despite Trump's seemingly comfortable lead there, the Republicans will opt for legal action โ particularly if it means a second term for Trump. On Wednesday morning, Trump said, "We are winning," in all the above-mentioned states, but because the vote-count was stopped he threatened to go to the Supreme Court.
In any case, even if Biden wins โ it would be an exceedingly small win on the razor's edge of a few thousand votes. It would be nothing resembling the so-called "blue-wave" he predicted. At the same time, it appears the Democrats' plans to conquer the Senate have also gone awry, and there's a good chance the Republicans hold on to the Senate by a minuscule majority. What's most glaring is that the big money in the US went to the Democrats. A fortune was invested in South Carolina to dislodge Republican Senator Lindsey Graham. The Democrats invested some $100 million there but Graham held on, as was the case in Michigan, Iowa and many other states.
And this is one of the more interesting points. The Republicans, in the past, were considered the part of big industry and big money. But the economy changed and along with it, party demographics. The Democrats have become a type of socialist-revolutionary party, which intends to introduce far-reaching economic regulations and extreme tax hike, which is supported by the international conglomerates. The Republicans under Trump are supported by lower-class whites and blue-collar Americans.
Florida, where there's a substantial minority of Latino voters from Cuba, was supposed to flip to for Biden, according to the polls (some polls predicted a margin of 4% or more). The Latinos forgot they were supposed to vote for the Democrats and gave Trump a resounding victory. This says something. The minority, including blacks, are starting to reject being taken for granted due to the color of their skin or ethnicity, as demanded by the ideologues of the Democratic party.
