Do anti-Israel protesters really care?

So where is the outcry by pro-Palestinian protestors over Hamas's abuses of Gaza's Palestinians? There is none, because those who claim to support the Palestinians can't blame these abuses on the Jews.

Ever since Israel began its campaign to wipe out Hamas following the terrorist group's cold-blooded murder spree on October 7, multitudes of people around the world have come out to demonstrate against the Jewish state, claiming they are doing so in the name of protecting innocent Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip. But truthfully, those protesting Israel's actions against Hamas in Gaza don't really care about the Palestinians. They only care to the extent that they can blame Jews for the Palestinians' suffering.

If these demonstrators really cared about the Palestinians, they wouldn't be protesting against Israel. They would instead be protesting against the ones who are truly making the Palestinians' lives miserable: Hamas. Since taking over the Gaza Strip from the hapless, incompetent Palestinian Authority in 2007, Hamas has excelled at making the lives of Palestinians miserable.

Under Hamas rule, Gaza's Palestinians have no rights or freedoms. They are also heavily taxed by the terrorist group. In fact, taxes from impoverished Gazans have helped make Hamas the fifth-richest terrorist organization in the world. Foreign aid meant to improve the lives of ordinary Gazans is instead confiscated by Hamas and used to build terrorist infrastructure like tunnels and rockets.

And every time Hamas uses those tunnels and rockets to pick a fight with Israel, innocent Palestinian civilians are used as human shields by the terrorist group. During the current conflict, for example, Israel has repeatedly warned residents of northern Gaza to evacuate for their own safety. Hamas, however, has ordered these Palestinians to stay and has even blocked evacuation routes to prevent them from leaving. At the same time, Hamas continues to base its terrorist infrastructure in and around civilian structures like schools and hospitals, because it knows that Israel will shoulder the blame for any casualties that result from targeting these buildings.

Hamas also knows that much of the world's media is so naïve that they will buy anything that the terrorist group tells them. Case in point, the lie that Israel bombed Gaza's Al-Ahli hospital and killed hundreds of innocent civilians, when in fact the hospital was hit by a misfired rocket launched by Palestinian Islamic Jihad, another Islamist terrorist group. Indeed, between 20 and 30% of all rockets fired by Hamas and its terrorist allies don't reach Israeli territory and end up landing back in Gaza, often causing casualties, including fatalities.

Many people say that the Gaza Strip is an open-air prison. If this is the case, then surely the terrorists of Hamas are the wardens. So where is the outcry by pro-Palestinian protestors over Hamas's abuses of Gaza's Palestinians? There is none, because those who claim to support the Palestinians can't blame these abuses on the Jews.

In fact, Hamas has received nothing but praise from pro-Palestinian demonstrators. Praise for orchestrating a genocidal rampage in southern Israel, ruthlessly murdering 1,400 Israelis and taking more than two hundred hostages. Praise for committing the worst atrocities against the Jewish people since the Holocaust.

The pro-Palestinian demonstrators around the world now protesting against Israel should instead be protesting against Hamas and its primary state sponsor, Iran. They should be calling on the Iranian government to end its funding of the terrorist group so that Gazan Palestinians no longer have to live under its tyranny. They should also be supporting Israel's campaign to destroy Hamas knowing that it will end the Islamist group's dictatorship over the coastal enclave. But alas, those who claim to support the Palestinian cause only come out onto the streets whenever they can blame Jews for the Palestinians' suffering.
