Bennett can take a leaf out of Netanyahu's book

High-profile activity in Iran, Syria, Lebanon, and the Gaza Strip will contribute to the war against Tehran's nuclear program and ensure security in Israel.

The fact that 63% of Americans oppose the nuclear deal and believe it to be a graver threat to the national security of the United States than the Russian invasion of Ukraine should give a responsible US president pause for thought.

In Congress too, a handful of Democratic lawmakers expressed reservations over President Joe Biden's efforts to revive the agreement in a press conference last week.

Furthermore, for about two months, including during its war in Ukraine, Moscow has been referred to as the intermediately between Washington and Tehran in the indirect talks in Vienna. Russia has managed to find a significant loophole in the sanctions imposed against it.

The Kremlin seeks to sabotage any political or strategic initiative of the Biden administration, and the nuclear deal seems to be one such goal. Biden has most likely shifted his position due to the growing public opposition to the pact and a desire not to benefit heavily-sanctioned Russia in any way. Will this prompt Tehran to give up on the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps? Unclear.

Perhaps, even Israel has a say in the matter. When Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid issued a joint statement rebuking the potential US move to remove the IRGC from its terrorism blacklist, they certainly possessed intelligence with regard to the terrorist activity of the organization that is essentially responsible for Iran's nuclear program.

Had Biden made concessions, the media would have exploded with the embarrassing intelligence about the terrorist organization's characteristics and activities, based on "Western intelligence sources."

If the powers fail to reach an agreement, the existing sanctions on Iran cannot remain as is. They must be increased and made harsher. And Israel is busy fighting the latest Palestinian terror wave.

Part of Israel's power to deter during former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's rule stemmed from the daring actions that were carried out in far circles. The Iranian elite was subjected to a demonic dance of suspicions and civil wars. High-profile activity in Iran, in the Red Sea arena, in Syria, Lebanon, and the Gaza Strip, will contribute to the war against the Iranian nuclear program and ensure security in Israel. The current leadership has what to learn from their predecessors.
