A strategic turning point in Arab-Israeli relations

The agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel is not "just" another treaty. The shared security challenges require a special kind of dialogue.

The architects of the Abraham Accords understood the dangerous consequences of allowing leaders and statesmen to neglect moral values. They realized that it was impossible to wait for the next generation to effect change and that it is up to the current generation to strive for a resurrection of human values.

The decision to normalize toes between Israel to the United Arab Emirates is considered a key step towards peaceful and prosperous coexistence, and it has already been said and this treaty is a strategic turning point in Arab-Israeli relations and the beginning of a comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

The peace agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel is not "just" another decision to establish bilateral relations, but rather an accord that is influenced by the overall strategic reality in the Middle East. It is also expected to bolster scientific cooperation between the two countries, with a promising potential of collaborations in diverse fields such as astronomy, water, and food security.

It is also very important that we remember the issue of the UAE's interest in Israeli companies, especially since Israel is known for its start-up companies. This offers Emiratis new avenues of investments and such cooperation could push mutual economic growth and support the technological development of both countries.

It is important to stress that Israel and the United Arab Emirates have a common denominator: security challenges. This undoubtedly requires a special kind of dialogue and one vision, in order for us to witness with our own eyes the historic step taken in the direction of peace – one that would curb the aspiration and attempt to eliminate both countries.

I have stated before that Israel was never given the proper opportunity in the region, as it has always been isolated from its neighbor in what can only be described as a type of religious and ethnic discrimination.

However, it is very clear, as many hope, that the peace agreement between the UAE and Israel strengthens the "moderate axis" in general, and provides an opportunity for the United Arab Emirates to play an important and influential role in mediating the Arab-Israeli conflict, especially vis-à-vis the militant states.
