After IDF's female fighters proved their bravery and importance during the war imposed on Israel, displaying supreme courage amid the Black October massacre, the March-April draft that began about two weeks ago saw an unprecedented enlistment of girls for combat roles, with hundreds more girls drafted to combat positions.
The aim is to capture clear footage and deter violence against the mounted units during protests.
"The IDF is at war and the deployment of forces is under continuous assessment according to requirements," the military says in a statement.
Aged-out reserve service members who are no longer in the call-up registry would help the current order of battle and ease the burden. But no decision has been made.
The attack, which caused no injuries, was claimed by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq.
The senior Israeli official told Israel Hayom that after the IDF completed its planned maneuver in Rafah it will turn to the north. "Achieving the strategic goal of the return of northern residents to their homes requires a ground war. We will do that after Rafah, not simultaneously,” the official said.
The IDF has launched an investigation after footage shows the soldier congratulating the Russian president on his "election victory," followed by "celebratory" shots.
Up until now, women could join other undercover units in the organization, but under the revised position, prospective female recruits would be allowed to join if they meet the relevant criteria for other applicants and only if there is more than one woman who passes the threshold.
"You must be worthy of those soldiers who sacrificed their lives," Lt. Col. Dan Goldfus tells politicians.
IDF and Shin Bet explain that the move stems from a need to free up space “for detainees of a higher threat level.”
