A three-minute video threatening the life of Barron Trump has surfaced on Iranian state media. The New York Post reported that the broadcast arrives just as Washington moves to impose a fresh round of severe economic penalties on Tehran. The footage – titled "Where to kill Barron Trump" – claims the president's 20-year-old son is "fully monitored." It goes further, showing what it describes as the dormitories at NYU's Constance Milstein & Family Global Academic Center. That translation came from Euronews.
Gaming and messaging accounts belonging to Barron were also named in the broadcast – Xbox, FIFA, and Discord among them. Two of his classmates' accounts were referenced as well. None of this has been verified. The New York Post said it could not confirm the surveillance claims, the classmate details, or multiple reports of a $10 million bounty placed on the younger Trump. A final line closed out the segment: "This is just the beginning! Barron Trump, wait for us!"

Al Bawaba identified the broadcast as having circulated through media linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. This is not an isolated incident. In July, Tasnim News Agency released its own video – "Where to Kill Melania?" – claiming to know the first lady's whereabouts. That same month, Tehran's Islamic Revolution Square displayed a billboard of the president depicted as a corpse in a coffin. Its English caption read: "We Kill Trump."
Yet another video, "Where to Kill Trump?!," claimed to trace the routes of the presidential motorcade between Florida and New York. None of this is without precedent – Tehran has targeted the president rhetorically since his January 2020 strike killed Gen. Qassem Soleimani. The regime's fury has only deepened since an Israeli strike killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei this past February.
On the economic front, the pressure from Washington keeps building. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has introduced what he's calling an "economic D-Day," a plan meant to finish off an economy already reeling from inflation and blockade, according to the New York Post. "We are now entering the endgame. At dawn begins an economic D-Day – the single greatest financial offensive ever marshaled against an adversary," Bessent said.
Signs of that strain are already visible. The rial has cratered to nearly 1.5 million to the dollar, the New York Post reported, just as new sanctions loom. Even Tehran's own leadership is sounding alarms. President Masoud Pezeshkian and parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf both spoke last week about the severity of the crisis, seemingly leaving room for talks with Washington. Ghalibaf put it starkly: "No matter how much military power we have, if people are hungry and we do not have financial circulation and economic growth, we will not endure."
Trump, for his part, has claimed credit for keeping shipping lanes open through the Strait of Hormuz despite the pressure campaign, the outlet noted. "IRAN IS COMPLETELY COLLAPSING!!!" Trump posted on Truth Social Monday, in a message the New York Post highlighted.
