Barring an escalation in the fragile situation in the Middle East, US aviation giant Delta Air Lines will resume operations in Israel and relaunch its Tel Aviv-New York route beginning Sept. 7, 2026.
Delta will operate one daily flight to New York. Round-trip fares for September are running at around $2,680, dropping to $1,550 by the end of October.
Competition on US routes expands
One day after Delta's return, United Airlines is scheduled to resume flights to Ben Gurion Airport, as planned. The airline will operate two daily flights between Ben Gurion Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport using Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
American Airlines has postponed its return until the end of March 2027.
For now, travelers seeking nonstop flights between Israel and the US can fly with El Al and Arkia. Israir, which has completed the acquisition of its widebody aircraft for long-haul flights, is expected to join the competition on the New York route next month, although dates and fares have yet to be announced.
