A senior Israeli official told Israel Hayom on Tuesday that the ongoing negotiations with the mediators are continuing under the principle of "talks under fire."
Despite a recent announcement by the terrorist organization Hamas that it had rejected the Witkoff framework, the official said no new proposal has been received from the mediators since then. He also denied reports in the Arab media suggesting an Israeli delegation had traveled to Cairo in recent days.

According to those reports, a senior Hamas figure claimed a delegation from the terrorist organization arrived in Cairo, Egypt, to discuss new ideas for a ceasefire in Gaza. The delegation reportedly arrived Sunday evening and held talks with the Egyptian General Intelligence mediation team on Tuesday to assess recent developments.
Meanwhile, Saudi-owned Al Arabiya reported that talks between Israel and Hamas would continue over the next two days, facilitated by mediators in Doha and Cairo.
As previously reported by the BBC, mediators from Egypt and Qatar have proposed a new framework aimed at ending the war in Gaza. The proposal includes a long-term ceasefire of five to seven years, the release of all Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails, a formal end to the war, and a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
