Hamas Political Bureau member Husam Badran declared Wednesday morning to Agence France-Presse (AFP) that the ideas currently proposed in Gaza ceasefire negotiations "are incomplete." Badran stated that communication with mediators continues but insisted no new ceasefire proposal exists. He emphasized that the terror organization "is open to any ideas that could lead to a ceasefire."

He further alleged that "the American side is not a mediator but a biased party that supports Israel, and Netanyahu refuses to negotiate." Badran repeated claims made by Hamas senior officials that Gaza terror organizations had already agreed to the proposal presented by Egyptian and Qatari mediators.
In contrast, sources informed the Qatari newspaper Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that Cairo has submitted a "new initiative" to the relevant parties – Israel, the US, and Hamas. According to these sources, the proposal includes practical suggestions for a ceasefire, establishing a long-term humanitarian truce, and a partial hostage exchange deal.
