The Syrian Foreign Ministry confirmed reports of extensive Israeli Air Force operations across Syria Wednesday night, issuing a strong condemnation against what it called an "unjustified escalation that constitutes a deliberate attempt to undermine stability in Syria." Syrian sources reported ten casualties from IDF shelling in the southern Daraa province, with dozens more wounded in what marks a significant cross-border incident.
According to an IDF statement, forces conducted operations in the Tasil area of southern Syria overnight, where they confiscated weapons and destroyed terrorist infrastructure. During the mission, several armed individuals opened fire on Israeli forces, resulting in their elimination through ground and air responses. The IDF confirmed that its forces completed their assigned mission without sustaining any casualties. "The IDF will not allow the existence of a military threat in Syria and will act against it," the military spokesperson emphasized in an official statement.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry's condemnation detailed that "the Air Force attack was carried out in five different areas within half an hour," causing "almost complete destruction to Hama Airport" and resulting in "dozens of wounded Syrian civilians and soldiers." Military targets struck during the operation reportedly included a scientific research center in the Barzeh neighborhood of northern Damascus, military facilities at Hama Airport, and the T4 base in Homs province.
Sources speaking to Al-Mayadeen news channel claimed the Israeli strikes specifically targeted weapons and ammunition depots along with military aircraft stationed at Hama Airport, effectively disabling the facility. The sources added that vehicles in the vicinity of the airport were also hit. Syrian reports documented approximately 11 separate strikes on Hama Airport alone.
In Damascus, local reports indicated ambulances were dispatched to the strike zone in the Barzeh neighborhood, with casualties reported across multiple locations affected by the Israeli operation.
