A reserve senior IDF officer accidentally left classified, significant, and sensitive documents on Sunday in the parking lot of an office tower in Ramat Gan in central Israel while on his way to a meeting for civilian purposes. A passerby who discovered the documents realized they should not fall into the wrong hands and promptly handed them over to the building's security guard.
The security guard then transferred the documents to the police and the IDF. The officer in question, a brigadier general, has previously been linked to several affairs, one of them in recent times. The IDF stated that the incident is being addressed at the command level.

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit response: "The incident in question is being investigated by the IDF Information Security Department, and not handled by the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division. The matter was reported to commanders at the time. As of now, the officer has not been suspended from duty. Once the investigation is concluded, appropriate measures will be taken.
