Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz have instructed the IDF to prepare for the defense of Jaramana, a Druze town in the suburbs of Damascus that was attacked earlier by Syrian regime forces, according to a statement released Saturday evening by the defense minister. Meanwhile, according to preliminary reports, Israel carried out an attack in Damascus.
"We will not allow the extremist Islamic terror regime in Syria to harm the Druze. If the regime harms the Druze, it will face consequences from us," Netanyahu and Katz stated in a joint declaration.

"We have instructed the IDF to prepare and to deliver a clear and strong warning: If the regime harms the Druze, it will face consequences from us. We are committed to our Druze brothers in Israel and will do everything possible to prevent harm to their Druze brethren in Syria, taking all necessary measures to ensure their safety," they added.
