The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported Tuesday morning on intense mediation efforts by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar to resolve the crisis surrounding the release of terrorists, which was halted due to Hamas violations.
According to the report, the goal is to reach understandings regarding the terrorists who were supposed to be released on Saturday. It was also reported that Egypt is attempting to introduce "modifications" to the number of released terrorists in exchange for the return of two or three dead hostages.

Sources familiar with the negotiations stated that mediators are moving toward a compromise formula, which includes transferring the bodies without "ceremonies."
Additionally, it was claimed that this process would serve as a "prelude" to further deals during a "transition phase" toward the second stage.

"Risk of return to combat"
Against this backdrop, Egypt and Qatar have warned of the consequences of alleged Israeli violations.
Egyptian officials reportedly spoke with their American counterparts, warning of the "risk of a return to fighting," emphasizing that such a scenario "would destroy everything agreed upon in recent weeks."
Furthermore, it was claimed that Hamas has the capability to respond to Israeli violations in a way that would have serious consequences for both sides.
