The wave of foreign airlines resuming operations in Israel continues, with another carrier confirming its return. Air Canada has announced that it will resume flights to Israel in time for the upcoming summer.
According to the airline, flights on the Toronto-Tel Aviv route will restart on June 8, with four direct weekly flights. Beginning in August, the company will also introduce a weekly direct flight on the Montreal-Tel Aviv route.
The return of Air Canada is particularly important for the Jewish community in Canada, providing an additional travel option to North America. El Al previously suspended its direct flights to Canada, and until Air Canada's return, there are no direct flights between Israel and Canada.
As previously reported, United Airlines is set to resume direct flights to New York on March 15, while Delta Airlines is expected to resume service to Israel on April 1.
Air Canada stated: "Air Canada has a long-standing commitment to the Canada-Israel route, which we have operated for the past 30 years. We look forward to resuming flights and even expanding them as conditions allow."
