A new poll by the Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI) reveals that a majority of Israelis support completing the hostage deal in full while postponing decisions regarding Hamas' future rule in Gaza. The survey, conducted late last week, was published Monday, ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington.
According to the poll, only about one-fifth of the general public and a quarter of Jewish Israelis prefer to halt the deal after its first phase and resume military operations in Gaza. Among Arab Israelis, 75% support completing the deal, with only a small minority favoring a return to fighting.

Significant political differences emerged: Opposition voters overwhelmingly support continuing with the deal (98% among Yesh Atid voters and 89% among National Unity voters). Coalition voters are more divided. In Likud, a narrow majority of 43% support completing the deal, while 40% oppose it. Meanwhile, 70% of Religious Zionism voters and 60% of Otzma Yehudit voters favor resuming the war.
These results align with a previous JPPI poll from January, which found that 55% of the public supported accepting Hamas' demands for the release of hostages, arguing that Israel could always find a way to resume fighting later if necessary.
