Flying to the US from Israel has become all but impossible without using an Israeli carrier. Here is what you need to know.

International airlines continue to adjust their flight schedules to and from Israel as security concerns persist in the region. These cancellations persist during a period of heightened tensions, most recently the elimiation of Hamas Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar and Iranian attacks on Israel.

Which other international airlines have canceled flights to Israel, and until when? We've organized the information for you in an article that will be updated based on developments and decisions made by the airlines.

(This guide is up-to-date as of December 26, 2024).

  • United Airlines has canceled flights to Israel until further notice.
  • British Airways said it would not fly to Israel until the end of March 2025.
  • Delta Airlines suspended its flights to Israel until the end of March 2025.
  • American Airlines has canceled flights until March 2025, but has also taken down from its site all flights to and from Israel until the end of the summer of 2025. This means El Al is currently the sole airline operating direct flights between the US and Israel.
  • KLM has announced that it would not fly to Israel until the end of the year.
  • Air France said it would return to Israel only on January 9, 2025 at the earliest.
  • The Lufthansa Group, which includes Swiss, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines, has extended its flight suspensions to Israel through January 2025.
  • Croatia Airlines has suspended its flights without specifying a return date.
  • Vueling from Spain has canceled flights until January 2025, though this may change.
  • Air Canada said it would not resume flights for the rest of 2024.
  • Icelandair has suspended flights until further notice.
  • Ryanair has canceled flights to Israel through 2024 and it appears to have taken Israel off its destination options for bookings until April.
  • Cathay Pacific has suspended flights until March 27, 2025 at the earliest.
  • Air India has suspended flights to and from Israel until the end of February.
  • Iberia has extended its flight cancellations to Israel until the end of March
  • The Italian airline ITA has suspended its flights untll January 31, 2025.
  • The Dutch airline Transavia has canceled flights until March 31, 2025.
  • Wizz Air, on the one hand, announced the cancellation of all its flights to and from Israel up to and including January 14, 2025, but it also announced in late November that it will relaunch its flights to and from Larnaca starting Dec. 20.
  • easyJet announced that it won't fly to and from Israel at least until March 29, 2025.
  • Emirates has suspended all flights to Israel until further notice.
  • Korean Air has suspended flights until further notice.
  • TAP Air Portugal has suspended flights until further notice.

Several airlines have already resumed operations:  TAROM, Arkia, El Al, Hainan Airlines, Etihad Airways, TUS, Bluebird Airways, Corendon Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways, Electra Airways, GullivAir, FlyOne, as well as Sky, Aegean, Bulgaria Air, Azerbaijan Airlines, Air Europa, Bees Romania, FlyDubai, and Ethiopian Airlines.
