Israeli security forces have thwarted an Iranian attempt to smuggle advanced weapons to terror operatives in the Jenin region of the West Bank, in a joint operation by the Shin Bet and the Israel Defense Forces. A subsequent search led to the discovery of an additional cache where the bulk of the shipment had been concealed underground.

The smuggling was orchestrated by Iran's IRGC 4000th Division, led by Jawad Ghafari, and the Quds Force's Unit 840 in Syria, commanded by Etsar Bakri.

The intercepted arsenal included sophisticated weaponry designed to cause mass casualties, including rockets, multiple types of high-powered Claymore explosive devices – some featuring wireless detonation capabilities – mortars and their launching systems, precision sniper rifles, and various other combat equipment.
Intelligence sources revealed that the weapons shipment was orchestrated by Unit 4000, the specialized operations division within the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps' Intelligence Organization, under the leadership of Javad Ghaffari.
The operation was coordinated with the Quds Force Special Operations Unit operating in Syria (18840), commanded by Unit 840 leader Etsar Bakri.
The comprehensive inventory of seized weapons comprised: 40 military-grade large Claymore mines complete with rollers and detonators, 33 improvised Claymore devices, wireless Claymore activation systems, 6 RPG-7 launchers, 3 107mm rockets, 24 RPG-18 and RPG-22 rockets, 2 60mm mortar tubes, 20 60mm mortar shells, 6 long-barrel M16 rifles plus 1 M4 carbine with magazines, 7 Hunter sniper rifles, and 37 handguns (consisting of Glock and XD-9 models).
