Nearly two months after the pager attack in Lebanon that injured hundreds of Hezbollah operatives and resulted in several casualties, Iran's Ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Amini, who reportedly suffered eye and hand injuries, has made his first public appearance since the incident.

Photos released from the meeting show Amini with his left hand bandaged. His face appears scarred, with visible swelling around his eyes, particularly his right eye which seems to have sustained more severe damage, and his lip appears split. Reports indicate that while Amini wasn't carrying a pager device himself, he was injured by the explosion of a device carried by one of his security guards.

The day following the incident, on September 17, Iranian media outlets reported that Amini was injured during the explosion of Hezbollah's pager devices. The Iranian ambassador is considered one of the most important liaison figures between Tehran's government and the Lebanese terror organization. Previous assessments suggested that Hezbollah hosted meetings at the Iranian embassy.
According to the Iranian news agency Fars, the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon suffered superficial injuries and was taken to the hospital. An Iranian report cited his wife saying he was lightly wounded. The Hezbollah-affiliated Al Mayadeen channel reported that the Iranian ambassador "was not carrying a communication device" but was injured by the explosion of a device carried by one of his escorts.
