An IDF division had received orders to prepare for an offensive in southern Lebanon, but Israel Hayom has learned that, for the moment, the mission is being re-evaluated. This reconsideration comes against the backdrop of negotiation talks and progress towards a potential agreement with Lebanon along the Israel's northern border.
The IDF Spokesperson added: "The IDF is fighting on multiple fronts and works to fulfill the war's objectives, according to directives from the political echelon."

Recent developments have been reported in negotiations between Israel and Lebanon, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer have established the principles of Israel's stance on an agreement. Today (Thursday), the Prime Minister met with Amos Hochstein, the American mediator between Israel and Lebanon, as well as with Brett McGurk, the US special envoy for the Middle East.
Following the meeting, the Prime Minister's office issued a statement, saying: "Prime Minister Netanyahu made it clear that the main point is not this or that agreement on paper but Israel's ability and determination to enforce the agreement and thwart any threat to its security from Lebanon, in a manner that will return our residents securely to their homes."
