New York's LaGuardia Airport has been named the best airport in the United States by Forbes magazine. Around 5,000 people, all involved in tourism and aviation, participated by vote in the selection.
This is particularly surprising, as only a few years ago, LaGuardia was considered one of the worst airports in the world. President Joe Biden once referred to it as being like a "third-world country," and passengers frequently complained about lost luggage and poor customer service.

In 2014, it was decided to give the airport a facelift with an investment of eight billion dollars. "Our mission was to turn LaGuardia into the best airport, after years of being considered the worst," a statement said.

The magazine also gave out additional awards in the aviation sector. Emirates was recognized for the best first class, Air France took the prize for the best wine list, Dubai International Airport serves the best food, and Singapore's Changi Airport was recognized as the best designed and the top airport for international flights.
