IDF Spokesperson Brigadier General Daniel Hagari made an announcement late Sunday night regarding the drone attack: "Yesterday, a drone from the Hezbollah terrorist organization struck a military base near Binyamina. All of the wounded have been evacuated to hospitals, and their families have been notified."
"In the incident, four IDF soldiers were killed, and seven others were seriously injured. Notifications have been delivered to their families. On Monday morning their names were released as follows: Sergeant Alon Amitai; Sergeant Yosef Hieb; Sergeant Yoav Agmon; and Sergeant Omri Tamari.

"The incident is under investigation. We ask to refrain from spreading rumours and the names of injured individuals, and to respect the families."

According to reports, the drone penetrated the dining hall roof and exploded, as dozens of soldiers, some of them recruits, were seated for dinner.

The father of one of the wounded soldiers told Israel Hayom: "He was hit in the neck by shrapnel and has a scratch on his cheek. He's been in the army for six months, almost done with basic training. It happened while they were in the dining hall. There was no alarm, and they just heard a boom and got up. He seems to be doing fine and is communicating with me, but he doesn't remember anything."
The incident comes just days after two drones targeted central Israel, with one hitting a residential nursing home in Herzliyya just north of Tel Aviv and the other one intercepted over the sea.
