Gunshots were heard near a golf club where former US President Donald Trump was located in Florida. His campaign confirmed that he "Is safe."
CNN reported that the former president was indeed the target, and that a suspect carrying a rifle and wearing a GoPro camera was apprehended.

The White House stated that "The President and Vice President have been briefed about the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was golfing. They are relieved to know that he is safe. They will be kept regularly updated by their team.

Sources further stated that Trump was never in any danger and that the shooting occurred in an area near the club known for high crime rates.
"President Trump is safe following hearing gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time," said Steven Cheung, Trump's campaign communications director.
In July, Trump survived an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. He was grazed in the ear by a bullet, and the assassin was later neutralized.
