A new bus route designed to enhance safety for Jewish residents in North London amid unprecedented levels of antisemitism has been launched this week, according to a report by My London. The 310 service – running between Golders Green and Stamford Hill – marks the first direct bus connection between the two neighborhoods with significant Jewish populations.
According to My London, the introduction of the route comes in response to a "longstanding request from residents," particularly from the local Jewish community. Sadiq Khan, mayor of London and chair of Transport for London (TfL), had promised earlier this year to establish such a service to address safety concerns.
The brand new 310 bus route will directly connect Golders Green and Stamford Hill for the first time.
It's a privilege to be able to bring about positive transport changes like this after calls from the local community.https://t.co/wNejUrmDbP

Transport officials describe the 310 as providing a "safe, accessible, sustainable and affordable form of public transport" for residents. The route is specifically designed to offer a secure travel option for Jewish community members who may feel vulnerable to antisemitic incidents on other forms of public transportation.
To assess the impact and reception of the new service, TfL is conducting a 12-month public consultation. The period will allow Londoners to provide feedback on the route's performance and help inform TfL's long-term service plans. The transport authority has committed to working closely with local communities during this time to promote the route and gather community feedback.
The 310 route serves areas across five London boroughs: Hackney, Barnet, Islington, Camden, and Haringey. It runs parallel to the existing 253 between Stamford Hill and Finsbury Park station, and the 210 between Finsbury Park station and Golders Green. Due to infrastructure constraints, the service bypasses the bus station at Wells Terrace in Finsbury Park, instead running directly via Stroud Green Road under the railway bridge, with stops on Seven Sisters Road and westbound on Rock Street.
Khan expressed his satisfaction with the launch, stating, "I'm delighted that the 310 bus route is now up and running, and serving the community. I pledged to Londoners when I was re-elected that I would introduce this route, and I'm pleased to be delivering on this promise."
Khan further emphasized the significance of the new route, adding, "The brand-new bus route will connect Golders Green and Stamford Hill with a direct service for the first time, supporting many local residents, particularly in the Jewish community, and helping to build a safer, fairer and greener London for everyone."
