Two Israelis were injured Sunday in a terror attack in the Jordan Valley. One sustained critical injuries and the other was wounded seriously.
The terrorists opened fire at a vehicle that traveled along Route 90 near the Mehola Junction.
Early reports suggest that a 33-year-old suffered moderate injuries, including a severe pelvic wound, when his car came under attack. Despite his injuries, the victim managed to alert authorities, sparking an immediate security response. As forces combed the area, they discovered a second vehicle with a 20-year-old occupant in critical condition. He later died of his injuries.
Witnesses reported that the attackers unleashed a barrage of gunfire from a passing vehicle before fleeing the scene. Mati Carmi, a volunteer first responder with United Hatzalah working alongside Magen David Adom in the Jordan Valley, was among the first to arrive. Carmi and his team provided crucial initial care to the moderately wounded victim, who had sustained injuries to his lower extremities.
Security forces have launched a comprehensive manhunt, deploying significant resources to track down the perpetrators.
