IDF forces have intensified ground operations in the Gaza Strip, fighting Hamas terrorists in close combat in Rafah and Khan Younis. The escalation comes as the northern border faces renewed tensions, with air defenses successfully intercepting a drone from Lebanon. Amid the developments, the military continues to conduct routine security measures, including warning siren tests in northern communities.
In the past 24 hours, troops advancing in Rafah have neutralized several Hamas terrorists through direct combat and precision airstrikes in Rafah. In Khan Younis, ground forces, supported by air power, have eliminated numerous Hamas terrorists, including those who engaged Israeli soldiers. Several terror cells were also dismantled during these operations.
The Israeli Air Force played a crucial role, conducting strikes on about 35 terror-related targets across the Gaza Strip. These included armed groups, military facilities, terror cells, and booby-trapped buildings.
On the home front, authorities are maintaining vigilance. The Home Front Command has scheduled warning siren tests for Monday in northern communities, such as Mitzpe Ilan, Hukok, and Migdal. In case of a real threat, residents will hear a distinct rising and falling siren, as opposed to a continuous one. Alerts will also be sent via the Home Front Command's app and other emergency notification systems.
In a separate incident highlighting regional tensions, Israeli air defenses intercepted a drone that crossed from Lebanon into the Western Galilee. This followed alerts in the Adamit and Ya'ara areas. Precautionary missile and rocket warnings were issued due to potential intercept debris, but no injuries were reported.
