German airline Lufthansa has canceled several flights to and from Israel as tensions escalate with the Hezbollah terrorist organization.
The move follows the carrier's earlier suspension of operations to and from Lebanon. The cancellations primarily affect evening flights from Frankfurt and Munich to Israel, as well as corresponding morning flights from Israel back to these German cities.
Industry sources suggest that additional Lufthansa flights may be canceled in the coming days, depending on how the security situation develops. The airline is expected to keep passengers informed of any further changes to its schedule.
Other Lufthansa Group airlines, including Swiss, Austrian, and Brussels Airlines, are maintaining their regular flight schedules to Israel for now. As of this report, no other major carriers have significantly altered their Israel operations in response to the current situation.
Lufthansa is yet to respond to a request for comment from Israel Hayom.
