An attack from Lebanon on Wednesday, which appears to have been caused by two projectiles, led to an estimated ten injured in the Druze town of Horfeish in northern Israel and the death of one reserve soldier early Thursday morning. He was named as Staff Sgt. (res.) Refael Kauders, 39, from Tzur Hadassah.
According to an initial triage, at least three were suffering from severe wounds, while another one was in critical condition. It was not immediately clear if this was a result of rockets or explosive drones often used by Hezbollah, which have recently caused massive fires in the region.

First responders on the scene say that IDF medical evacuation helicopters were summoned, although it is unclear what the severity of the injuries are and how many casualties needed emergency care.

Horfeish lies on Route 85, the main highway traversing east to west between the Upper and Lower Galilee. It is a largely Druze town. The Druze have aligned themselves with the Jews in Israel from the early pre-statehood years, with Horfeish being a symbol of that relationship. Some of the war dead in the latest Gaza conflict were from the town, and the town prides itself in sending its men to the IDF.
