ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini all seemed to be experiencing user issues and have mysteriously gone offline. Users worldwide were scratching their heads, wondering what could be the cause of this unexpected downtime on all these artificial intelligence platforms. The issues with Claude and Perplexity were resolved an hour later.

Earlier on Tuesday, ChatGPT admitted that the chatbot had been having some problems, but claimed that it had been fixed. Yey many users are still experiencing difficulty.
Is it the end of the world or something, first ChatGPT is down, and now, for the first time ever, Claude is down too. What is going on? pic.twitter.com/t5BQ3gHjaj

Employees from OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT, published a letter, titled, "A right to warn about advanced artificial intelligence." In the letter they address that AI contains "risks that range from the further entrenchment of existing inequalities, to manipulation and misinformation, to the loss of control of autonomous AI systems potentially resulting in human extinction." The letter urges the companies to accept criticism without retaliating against their employees.
A group of current/former OpenAI employees just published an open letter about AI's "serious risks" & their view that internal channels for reporting concerns aren't sufficient.
They're asking for whistleblower protections & a "right to warn" the public. https://t.co/qmAboHTGWl

"So long as there is no effective government oversight of these corporations, current and former employees are among the few people who can hold them accountable to the public. Yet broad confidentiality agreements block us from voicing our concerns, except to the very companies that may be failing to address these issues. Ordinary whistleblower protections are insufficient because they focus on illegal activity, whereas many of the risks we are concerned about are not yet regulated. Some of us reasonably fear various forms of retaliation, given the history of such cases across the industry," states the letter.
