The Israeli military confirmed Thursday that it had warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on several occasions about the risks stemming from the rift in society and that "our enemy sees the harm to cohesion in the country." The IDF's statement comes seven months after an NGO that promotes an equitable society sued the IDF in a freedom of information request.

According to the reports, Prime Minister Netanyahu received four separate warning letters from the Military Intelligence Directorate between March and July 2023 regarding Israel's enemies' perception of the damage to cohesion in Israel and its impact on Israel and the military in particular.
Protests against the judicial reform caused an uproar and a major rift between the political camps in Israel last year. In July, 1,142 reserve personnel, including about 500 pilots, announced that they would suspend their volunteer reserve duty due to the continued judicial legislation.
