A Jewish businessman was killed Tuesday by unknown assailants in the Alexandria governorate in northern Egypt, Saudi Arabia's Al-Arabiya network reported. According to the publication, his name is Ziv Kipper, and he owned a fruit and vegetable export company with a branch located in the city's commercial district.
It was further noted that Egyptian authorities are currently investigating the circumstances and details of the incident. The Egyptian Interior Ministry posted on its X account that the motive was criminal, referring to Kipper, who held Israeli and Canadian citizenship, as a Canadian citizen. It also stated that an investigative team has been formed to uncover the circumstances. Al-Arabiya wrote that he had worked in Egypt for nine years and owned a large company in the Alexandria governorate.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem says they are aware of the report and currently verifying its credibility. According to local media reports, the assailants are unknown.
