A drone laden with explosives that crossed into Lebanese territory Monday exploded in the area where an Israeli military force was present near Metula after a failed interception attempt. As a result of the missile strike, two IDF soldiers were killed: Master Sergeant (res.) Dan Kamkagi, 31, from Kfar Haroeh, and Master Sergeant (res.) Nahman Natan Hertz, 31, from Elazar. Both were fighters in the 6551 Reconnaissance Battalion, part of the Half Fire Formation (551).

Nahman Natan, a father of two young daughters who immigrated with his wife Joanna from France a few years ago and lived in Elazar in Gush Etzion. Nahman was drafted on October 7 and he is the fourth casualty from Elazar during the war.
The town responded to his death, writing: "Nahman fell heroically defending the homeland – which he was proud to serve. Our town also saw Rinat Zagdon murdered in the Nova massacre, David Schwartz, a combat engineer, was killed in Gaza, and Ariel Wollfstal, an armor officer who also fell in Gaza, leaving behind his pregnant wife who is due to give birth soon. A small town and such a painful price."
An IDF spokesperson updated that fighter jets struck about 15 military buildings and terror sites located in a military camp belonging to Hezbollah's Radwan Force, in the area of Arab al-Luweizah in southern Lebanon.
