The IDF has obtained testimonials from Hamas terrorists that reveal that the tragic deaths of Palestinians during the Gaza aid truck incident at the end of February were due to overcrowding, contradicting Hamas's claims that they were the result of IDF gunfire, i24NEWS reported Monday based on sources.

Israeli officials are currently deliberating on whether to make these testimonies public.
The Hamas-run Health Ministry has reported that the disaster, which occurred on Feb. 29, 2024, resulted in the deaths of at least 118 Palestinians and injuries to about 760 individuals.
An IDF probe, released approximately a week after the incident, concluded that the majority of deaths were caused by a large crowd that had surged and attacked the aid trucks on Rashid Street in Gaza, leading to a stampede.
According to the IDF investigation, which was presented by Southern Command Commander Maj. Gen. Yaron Finkelman to the Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, about 12,000 Gazans violently surrounded the trucks as they were en route to distribution centers, leading to looting. The report noted significant incidents of injuries among the crowded citizens and cases of individuals being run over by the trucks.
