"Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, we extend our heartfelt congratulations on your reelection and your triumph in the presidential elections of the Russian Federation," the soldier stated in the video in Russian, subsequently joining another fighter in discharging firearms at a target, in what seemed to be a shooting range.

The incident garnered harsh criticism, not solely due to the prohibition against IDF personnel in uniform from articulating political viewpoints, but also due to the ties between Russia and Iran, alongside Moscow's apparent denial of the sexual atrocities perpetrated by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7.
The video gained widespread attention on Russian social media platforms, laying the groundwork for allegations of IDF endorsement of the Russian leader.
The IDF Spokesperson's Unit said in a statement that the behavior of the soldier, whose identity has not been revealed "does not align with the values of the military. The incident is under investigation."
