The list is created by a prestigious pizza magazine that evaluates pizzerias in the Neapolitan-Italian style worldwide. The annual competition kicked off in Tokyo on Monday, where the finest pizzas from around the world will be ranked.
The Fresca pizzeria from Kibbutz Afikim, located south of the Sea of Galilee, was ranked 37th in the guide, and the Jerusalem-based La Piedra was ranked 39th. It's La Piedra's second consecutive year of making it onto the prestigious list.

At the event, Avi Sinclair, chef and partner at La Piedra, was called onto the stage along with his partner Yoel Drexler to receive the prestigious certificate from the guide known among experts as "The Michelin of Pizzas."
Sinclair wore a shirt that read "Bring Them Home Now" in reference to the 136 Israeli captives still held hostage by the Hamas terror organization.
"I am proud to represent Israel, and I am proud that even in difficult and complex times that we all experience, there are also moments with good news," he said. "Besides the joyous moment, it was very important for us to mention on the main stage that in Gaza, there are 134 captives suffering, and to call for their immediate release."
Tokyo's The Pizza Bar on 38th ranked first on the list, followed by Crosta pizzeria, Mati, Philippines, and RistoPizza, also in Tokyo.
