IDF takes over Hamas HQ in Khan Younis killing dozens of terrorists

In a significant escalation of operations within the Gaza Strip, the Kfir Brigade, a combat team of the Israel Defense Forces, has been actively engaged in the Khan Younis area. Over recent weeks, this marked the first time the brigade has been deployed in such a capacity since its formation.

The brigade's operations focused on the Kasbah in the 'Bnei Suhila' neighborhood of Khan Younis, targeting and dismantling numerous terrorist infrastructures. Throughout their raids, Israeli forces managed to neutralize dozens of terrorists and seize a vast array of weapons, including explosives, grenades, cartridges, and rockets. A significant find was a home lathe used for manufacturing weapons, which was promptly destroyed.

This operation represents a pivotal moment for the Kfir Brigade, as it engaged in coordinated maneuvers with armored, air, and engineering forces for the first time. The collaboration facilitated direct confrontations with terrorists, employing tactics designed to combat threats both above and below ground.

After an intensive period of engagement in the Gaza Strip, the brigade's combat team withdrew temporarily to regroup and refine their combat skills. They were replaced by other forces to maintain the operational momentum in Khan Younis. The IDF has indicated that the Kfir Brigade will resume its activities based on ongoing assessments of the situation, reflecting Israel's commitment to countering terrorism within its region.

IDF eliminates Wael Abu-Fanounah, deputy head of Islamic Jihad's psychological warfare operations

In a joint statement released by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson and the Shin Bet spokeswoman, significant achievements in the ongoing operations against terrorist elements in the Gaza Strip were highlighted. The coordinated efforts of land, air, and sea forces have led to the successful elimination of terrorists throughout the region.

In the north of the Gaza Strip, IDF forces successfully neutralized armed terrorists. Concurrently, numerous weapons caches were discovered in central Gaza. The IDF continues its operations within Gaza, in close coordination with the Air Force, which has been conducting precise, directed strikes. The naval forces have also been actively assisting, providing support through maritime fire.

A key development in the operation was the targeting and elimination of Wael Abu-Fanounah, the deputy head of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization's information system. This strike was conducted by the Air Force under the guidance of the Southern Command, the Intelligence Division, and the Shin Bet. Abu Panuna, a significant figure within the organization, was involved in producing and distributing propaganda materials, including videos of attacks on Israeli territories and documentaries aimed at psychological warfare against Israeli residents.

Further success was reported by the IDF's 179th Brigade in central Gaza. During their operation, the brigade came under RPG fire from terrorists. A thorough search of the area and a building used by the terrorists led to the discovery of RPGs, Kalashnikovs, and other military equipment.

In the northern sector, the 5th Brigade's combat team encountered and eliminated several armed terrorists. These confrontations saw the effective use of tank fire and support from Air Force aircraft.
