In December, the Shin Bet revealed a recruitment and operating network of Israeli citizens by Iranian security officials to perform tasks in Israel.
On Monday, the security agency said that these include photographing the homes of Israeli security officials and other officials who often appear in the media speaking out against Iran publicly.
These are manipulative activities on a variety of social media and other online platforms that mainly have to do with the families of hostages held in Gaza and the security system.

As part of the demonstrations for the return of the hostages, Iranian security officials are promoting activities of hanging posters made by Iranians, photographing protesters, filling out "surveys," and more.
For these "surveys," users are directed to links that require filling out their personal details to collect information on Israeli citizens and recruit them for security tasks.
Some of the Iranian initiatives were found by the Shin Bet itself and some were reported by citizens who realized the attempts were suspicious and reported them to the authorities.
The social media profiles, on TikTok, Instagram, and Telegram, included accounts posing as those of far-Right activists and supporters of the hostages, as well as a page by the name of Kan+, impersonating the Kan public broadcaster.
These also include the BringHomeNow Telegram channel, where details were gathered and contacts made, among authentic activity in the group.
