Sami Zayn, one of the biggest stars in the WWE, has generated a scandal due to his recent activity on social media. Zayn (whose real name is Rami Sebai), is a Canadian wrestler of Syrian origin, who is known for being pro-Palestinian and for his strong stand against Israel.

Since October 7, Zayn's followers on social media have been exposed to the fact that he has 'liked' some controversial tweets about the war, the worst of which is a horrifying article with the title "Israel's final solution for the Palestinians". In this article, written by Pulitzer Prize winner Chris Hedges, the author compares Israel's activities in Gaza to the Nazis', claims that Israel killed some of its own citizens during the massacre, and ends with the sentence, "Israelis who cheer on the Palestinian nightmare will soon endure a nightmare of their own."\

When looking for the article online, one can clearly see that the disturbing image at the top of the page is of the Star of David inside the Nazi Party flag. In addition, this past Thursday Zayn supported a tweet by a user who shared an article and noted that the death of civilians in Gaza was "calculated and deliberate".

Many wrestling fans who were exposed to Zayn's activity on social media, began to send many angry letters to WWE and to the TKO group that owns the company. It should be noted that TKO's board of directors includes several prominent Jewish figures. The TKO Group also owns the UFC, some of whose fighters have spoken out in an antisemitic manner since the October massacre without the company publicly condemning their conduct.
As mentioned, this is not the first time that Zayn's conduct on social media in the context of Israel has caused a stir. In 2018, during the escalation at the border of the Gaza Strip, Zain published on his account a photo of a young man holding a slingshot with the Palestinian flag behind him. Three years later, Zayn tweeted: "There is no viable moral defense for stealing people's homes based on their ethnicity" and added the hashtags #FreePalestine #SaveSheikhJarrah. Following several of his tweets on the Israeli-Palestinian issue, it was reported in the media that pro-Israeli organizations contacted WWE with a request to address the issue, and the tweets were indeed removed.
Israel Hayom has reached out to the Auschwitz Museum, which declined to comment. There was no response from WWE.
