YU took the extraordinary step of cancelling all undergraduate classes for the day and rescheduling them, so students could have this opportunity to show their support for the Jewish state.
YU is marshalling an extensive effort to get its students to the nation's capital, including arranging dozens of buses, and providing food, rally sweatshirts and signage for the thousands of YU college and high school students, faculty and staff who will be attending.
"We are proud to take the leadership role in paving the way for yeshivot, day schools, synagogues and communities to join this effort and stand with Israel. This is our responsibility as the flagship Jewish university,"
President of Yeshiva University Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman said. "There are times when Hashem invites us to participate in the unfolding of Jewish history. This is one of those times."
