Eliya Cohen (26) was trying to escape the party near the Gaza border when the terrorists started slaughtering its participants. His mother, Sigi Cohen, talks about him on video.
"Eliya is my eldest child and my only son – after him I have three daughters, but he's my and his father's only son. We're one soul.
"They were at the party, there were sirens. They ran to their car and started driving away. Then, friends who drove off earlier, called them and said: 'We're being shot! Don't stay in the car. Run!' His girlfriend, Ziv, told me that two commercial vans came, with around 12-13 terrorists, and just started shooting at them like ducks in a shooting range. They threw grenades at them, they threw RPGs at them…
"Ziv fell down, and on top of her fell all of the bodies. That's how she survived. She didn't move. Eliya was wounded. They looked at each other and held their hands tight. He whispered to her that he was wounded and that he's ok – and then, suddenly, she felt someone pulling him. They just pulled him out from the body pile, put him on their van and drove off.
"Please bring my son back. We can't live without him. My husband is disabled with a head injury. He's sitting at home, can't eat, can't drink, can't sleep – waiting for him. He's waiting for him to come home. He was his shoulder to lean on. I beg you, bring my son back."
