The LinkedIn employment-focused social media platform threatened legal action this week against an Israeli initiative that aims to identify users that support terrorism and incite violence against Israel online and report them to their employers.

Anti Israel Employees (initially named Terror Supporting Detector) was created mere days after the murderous Oct. 7 attack on southern Israel by the Hamas terror organization to expose users that support terrorism openly in violation of company policy.

LinkedIn said anti-israel-employee.com violated its rules by using automated programs to extract content from the platform, a practice known as scraping. The group denied the claim that it was extracting information through scraping, saying that LinkedIn was infringing on their right to free speech.
The domain of the website was changed to protect the project and ownership of it was transferred to attorney Guy Ofir, who said that LinkedIn users are "mature and educated people, and as such, should bear responsibility for what they write on public forums."
