The unprecedented move comes following a murderous attack by the Hamas terror organization on Oct. 7, in which 1,400 Israelis were murdered and over 200 taken hostage to the Gaza Strip.

The new recruits will participate in an accelerated training program and will be integrated into the forces wherever needed.
"I cannot stay at home given what is happening," one of the recruits – Yonatan, a father of four – said. "This is a difficult time, and the Haredi public is also a part of this, and I have come to lend a helping hand."
According to the IDF, over 2,000 Haredim have requested to be drafted as volunteers into the military.
