The Palestinian Arabic-language newspaper Al-Quds reported on the transfer of the 1,500 guns and combat equipment meant to strengthen the PA's security mechanism.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to ensure that the reports of "the transfer of military equipment to terrorists" were false or "there will be consequences."
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich was reportedly furious over the matter.
Similarly, the Opposition's Ze'ev Elkin called out the government for presenting itself as "fully right-wing," but failing to prevent "the raging Palestinian terrorism."
Although a government official told Israel Hayom that such an approval had indeed been granted by the Israeli government, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant tweeted that, "since I assumed the position of defense minister, I have not approved nor carried out the transfer of arms or lethal weapons to the Palestinian Authority. Any attempt to present things in a different way is a blatant lie."
Netanyahu later said "he was not aware" of the matter and that the approval was granted by the previous Bennett-Lapid government, which they denied.
