An Israeli soldier was killed during operations in the Jenin refugee camp late Monday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.
He was identified as Sergeant David Yehuda Izhak, 23, from the West Bank settlement of Beit El. He was the oldest son of Moshe and Amona and a brother to six brothers and sisters, according to the head of Beit El local council Shay Alon.

"Sergeant First Class David Yehuda Izhak, 23 years old, was a combat soldier in the Egoz Unit, from the community of Beit El. His family has been notified," the IDF statement said.
He was shot during the forces' exit from the Jenin Camp and received medical care on the scene after being wounded in an exchange of fire. His death was declared following his arrival at a hospital nearby. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at the military cemetery in the city of Rishon LeZion.

The Palestinian Authority health ministry confirmed that 13 Palestinian terrorists were killed as the IDF continues operations in Jenin, which began early Monday morning.
