Reports suggest the ramming and stabbing attack was perpetrated by a Palestinian from the Hebron area using a pick-up truck. After hitting a bus stop on Pinchas Rosen Street in the Ramat HaChayal neighborhood in northern Tel Aviv, he got out and started stabbing people before being killed by at least one member of the public who shot him to ensure that he would no longer pose a threat. He was later identified as 23-year-old Hussein Khalila, from the town of Samo south of Hebron.

Another two victims were sent to a Petach Tikva hospital suffering from moderate injuries.
The attack comes on the heels of a major operation in northern Samaria to tackle terrorism hotbeds in the Jenin area, which has produced a whole spate of fatal attacks in recent weeks. The operation has continued for the second day in a row on Tuesday after the major offensive started on Sunday night, with at least 8 terrorists killed by Israeli forces and major plots thwarted after discovering explosives and other arms meant for attacks against Israelis.
