The 200 olim are to make Eilat their new home.
The event was held at the European Jewish Center, where heads of the French Jewish community presented Ofer with a parchment featuring the names of the immigrants poised to move to Israel already this summer, along with a request to ensure the optimal absorption of the families.
Ofer also attended a similar ceremony in Marseille, from where 50 immigrants are set to make aliyah.
The news comes following a recent announcement by Ofer to focus aliyah efforts away from Eastern Europe to France and other Western nations.
