Dozens of paramedics arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance. According to the Magen David Adom medical emergency service, all injuries ranged between light and moderate.
Several of those injured were taken to the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, but most did not require hospitalization. One of the paramedics said the scene was difficult to watch and was filled with vehicles. "Some even drove off the side of the road," he said.

Heavy rainfall also led to a sinkhole in Holon, central Israel, and the road was closed to traffic.
Meanwhile, in northern Israel, Mt. Hermon saw an unseasonably thick layer of snow overnight Thursday. Israel's only ski resort, Mt. Hermon is usually open no longer than several weeks in the winter.
