Thousands of protesters took to the streets on Saturday evening in yet another show of opposition to the judicial reform proposed by the new government.

Demonstrations have been held almost weekly since early January, when Justice Minister Yariv Levin announced the plan, and has since stressed he was determined to carry out.
Saturday's marches attracted huge crowds and were held in several dozen locations throughout Israel. In Tel Aviv, police closed off several roads and a couple dozen demonstrators blocked traffic on southbound Ayalon Highway. In Jerusalem, protesters marching in the direction of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence were met with a right-wing counter demonstration, however no clashes were reported.
The judicial legislation has been a source of major contention, with the Left claiming it would turn Israel into a "dictatorship." Lawmakers on the Right, however, insist that it will balance the power of the judiciary and align Israel with other democratic nations.
