The attack happened just after 10:30 a.m. at the archaeological site known as City of David, where the city was first founded as a capital by King David and before the First Temple was built just to its north.
It is located just south of the Temple Mount, and is on the route leading to the Western Wall. The incident comes a day after a Palestinian terrorist shot seven people dead near a synagogue on the outskirts of the city.
