"i24NEWS has learned that an Iranian Shiite mullah, a well-known critic of the Iranian regime, recently paid a secret visit to Israel and met with officials close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu," the report said. According to the report, the meeting visit was confirmed to the channel by a source in Netanyahu's orbit.
The international outlet chose not to release the name of the outlet due to the potential backlash among Iranian authorities that his visit might elicit, which could endanger him. It was unclear from the report if the mullah lives in Iran, although it was noted that he is "frequently a guest of American right-wing circles."
The channel further said that when asked about the visit, the mullah did not issue a denial and also confirmed that the had a friendship with an official who is close to Netanyahu.
